Rediscovering Self Love

Self-love is a powerful and transformative journey, but for many of us, it can feel difficult. I spent years struggling to truly love myself, often falling into patterns of people-pleasing, self-doubt, and putting others' needs above my own. Over the years, and through a series of profound conversations with my spirit guides, I've received guidance on my self-love journey and have been working on healing deeply ingrained patterns.

This self-love journey, based on three core pillars—curiosity, compassion, and empowered action—has made a huge difference in my life, and I want to share it with you. Whether you’re just beginning your own journey or looking to deepen your practice, these pillars can offer you a foundation for healing, growth, and a renewed relationship with yourself.

Understanding Self-Love and

Why It Matters

What is self-love? Self-love is more than just a trendy term; it’s the foundation of a healthy, fulfilling life. When we practice self-love, we give ourselves permission to make choices that honor our needs and boundaries. This journey, has shown me that self-love is essential for breaking cycles of self-neglect, low self-worth, and unhealthy relationships.

The following pillars of self-love—curiosity, compassion, and empowered action—have allowed me to reconnect with my true self and embrace my worth. Let’s dive into these pillars to understand how they can support your own journey to self-love and healing.

Get Curious – Understanding Patterns in Relationships and Self-Worth

One of the first steps in self-love is learning to get curious about your relationship with yourself and others. I started my journey by asking myself questions such as: Do I have the relationships I truly want? Am I prioritizing my needs, or am I constantly putting others first?

This curiosity helped me identify patterns where I had been neglecting my needs and trying to “fix” myself to fit others’ expectations. I explored these patterns with openness, helping me see how deeply ingrained behaviors were blocking my ability to love myself. Through energy work and releasing trapped emotions, I began to heal old wounds and shift my relationships.

By taking inventory of the people in my life and setting boundaries, I could reclaim my energy and begin to prioritize my mental and emotional well-being. This process didn’t happen overnight, but these small steps gradually helped me bring love back to myself.

Self-Love Tip: Start by asking yourself where you might be sacrificing your needs for others. Embrace this self-discovery process as an essential step in your self-love journey.

Grace and Compassion – Letting Go of Guilt and Embracing Healing

Self-love requires grace and compassion, especially as we uncover past wounds and recognize patterns that have held us back. My spirit guides encouraged me to approach this journey with kindness, helping me let go of self-judgment and guilt.

Forgiving myself for times when I prioritized others over my own needs was crucial. Healing is a journey, and self-love isn’t about being perfect—it’s about accepting all parts of ourselves, including the messy and imperfect ones. When we bring grace into our lives, we make space for genuine healing.

Self-Love Tip: Practice forgiving yourself for past mistakes and understand that self-love is about progress, not perfection. Treat yourself with the same kindness you would offer a friend.

Empowered Action – Choosing Yourself Without Guilt

With curiosity and compassion as a foundation, the third pillar of self-love is empowered action. Self-love requires actively choosing myself. This meant setting boundaries, saying “no” when needed, and prioritizing my own happiness.

Taking empowered action helped me move out of survival mode and begin to thrive. By choosing myself without guilt, I could make decisions that honored my needs and goals. Each day, I actively choose to put myself first, a commitment that has transformed my life.

Reconnecting with my body became an important part of this process.

After years of feeling disconnected, I’m learning to be present with myself and honor my physical needs. This led to the idea of sharing five reasons why I love myself daily—a practice inspired by my spirit guides. Through this act of self-celebration, I hope to inspire others to join in this journey of self-love and personal growth.

Self-Love Tip: Start small. Whether it’s setting boundaries, creating a daily self-care ritual, or celebrating yourself in a small way, empowered action is a reminder that you are worthy of love.

Daily Self-Love Practice: Sharing Reasons I Love Myself

This journey inspired me to start a daily practice of sharing reasons why I love myself, which I’ll be sharing on social media. My spirit guides have guided me through a journey of understanding self-worth, releasing the weight of childhood trauma, and discovering self-love through daily practice. I hope that these reflections, whether physical attributes or aspects of my personality, inspire you to reflect on your own reasons for self-love.

This daily practice is a way to honor my growth and to remind myself—and anyone following—that self-love is a journey, not a destination. Each day, I celebrate the small and big things that make me, me.

Embracing Self-Love as a Lifelong Journey

Self-love is an evolving journey that grows as we do. Guided by my spirit guides, I’ve learned that curiosity, grace, and empowered action are powerful tools for reconnecting with ourselves. By following these three pillars, you can create a foundation of self-love, honor your needs, and transform your life.
